Referring a Patient to the New York Proton Center
We welcome patient referrals from providers throughout the United States and around the world.
A Powerful Treatment With Fewer Toxicities
Proton therapy is an advanced form of radiotherapy that destroys tumors while significantly reducing the risk of short- and long-term toxicities and side effects, including secondary malignancies. With extreme precision and no exit dose, proton therapy is an effective treatment for many adults and children with solid tumors, including some of the most challenging cases. Proton therapy is also typically the safest and most effective way to treat a recurrent tumor.
In 2023, the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) updated its model policy for proton therapy, expanding the list of cancers where proton therapy is recognized as the standard of care.
