NYPC Welcomes Seasoned Healthcare Executive James Loos as CFO
NEW YORK, NY – July 18, 2023 – Today the New York Proton Center, a leading provider of proton therapy cancer treatment, announced the appointment of James Loos, CPA as its new Chief Financial Officer. With over 25 years of experience in the healthcare and life sciences industry, Loos brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the new role.

Prior to joining the New York Proton Center, Loos held senior leadership positions at NYU Langone Health over the course of almost twenty years and helped to build the health system’s oncology service line into a comprehensive network of cancer centers throughout the region.

Most recently, as a senior director at the NYU Langone Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC), Loos oversaw a network of over 1,200 employees generating more than $1 billion annually. He managed operations and finance for PCC’s flagship outpatient comprehensive cancer center and fifteen satellite ambulatory centers. Significantly, during his tenure he led the integration of oncology operations at Winthrop University Hospital into the PCC network and helped the system successfully open PCC satellite locations in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island.
Loos has also previously worked in senior finance and operations roles at New York Presbyterian-Westchester (formerly Lawrence Hospital), Deloitte & Touche LLP Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice, and Northwell Health’s Lenox Hill Hospital.
A Certified Public Accountant, Loos is a member of the Association of Cancer Executives, American College of Healthcare Executives, Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
